When you work on all three levels — head, heart, and nervous system — transformation can happen quite fast. Joe points out that fast change is itself destabilizing. Decades-old patterns coming undone, big emotional releases, and large nervous system movements are not things to do alone or casually.

“Because often times when you’re transforming on all three levels, that transformation can happen quite quickly. And again, that can feel a little destabilizing.”

That’s why he insists the work happen inside a good container: a group of highly trustworthy people who really understand what they’re doing and can hold you while you move. The container isn’t a nicety; it’s what makes it safe to go into the deeper somatic and emotional layers at all. The progression he describes — talking material first, then experiential courses, then in-person deep dives — exists precisely so people aren’t dropped into the most destabilizing work before they’re ready for it.
