Many trauma survivors automatically turn their rage inward, leading to self-sabotage, chronic illness, depression, and self-destruction. This misdirection of life force energy is a learned pattern that keeps them stuck and sick.

The healthy alternative is learning to direct rage appropriately:

Stop turning it inward:

  • No more self-attack, self-criticism, self-sabotage
  • No more making yourself sick or small
  • No more punishing yourself for others’ failures

Direct it outward appropriately:

  • Against systems and people who harm others
  • In service of justice and protection
  • To set boundaries and defend what matters
  • To fuel positive action and change

The key insight: “It deserves to be turned on people who are fucking over other people.” Rage has appropriate targets—and you are not one of them.

This redirection often requires first accessing the rage fully (not suppressing it) and then consciously choosing where to aim this powerful energy.
