Rage and love are both expressions of the same underlying life force energy. They represent aliveness and passion—the opposite of numbness and disconnection. When someone has been numb for decades as a survival mechanism, both rage and love can feel equally intense and overwhelming because they’re accessing the same core vitality.

This understanding helps explain why people who have been emotionally shut down often fear both intense love and intense anger. They’re not separate emotions but different expressions of the same fundamental aliveness that was suppressed during trauma.

The key insight is that the energy itself isn’t the problem—it’s how we direct and express it. Both rage and love involve full engagement with life, full presence, and authentic expression of our deepest truth.
